PostSubject: Help in GameMaker   Thu Aug 02, 2007 2:53 pm

Ugh.

Every game i do, there is always a really important bug that i cant fix, no matter how many tutorials i find.

Im trying to make a Platform shooter. I had walking done
correctly, then i added a ground, and i added gravity and stuff.
Now my character cant move OR jump. I need someone WITH MSN to
talk me through it.

Thanks.

I could help but I dont have msn

Set your gravity so that you always fall down, never change gravity.
On collision with the ground use the move to contact function.
Use the same thing with walls
To move
(finsh later, gtg)

MSN, in my opinion. MSN is better for talking between online
buddies. AIM is better for meeting school friends and such online.

Well, that gravity seems to work. I think i know how to make myself move, but it might not work.

If something that uncomplicated is confusing, your help in GM is un-needed Wink

Dude, WTF!!!

You say 'never change gravity', yet im looking at the game example you gave me, and it has gravity:

If position is collision free: Set Gravity 270 to .5

Else: Set Gravity 270 to 0. That is exactly what i always did. Why does it work for your game?!?!

I meant you use gravity so that when you jump up you fall back down.

Seath, do you just drag and Drop, or do you use code as well?
